Minutes for Historic Cannon’s Addition
Community Development Steering Committee
Tuesday, March 1, 2005
The meeting was called to order by President Tom Hemkin.  There were thirteen in attendance.   The minutes of December 7, 2004, were read and approved as corrected.

OLD BUSINESS
Tom Hemkin gave a budget report (see attached for details).

Polly Judd Park:  Bud Hull reported that there has been vandalism on one of the picnic tables.  He will notify the Parks Department.

Trees:  Bud Hull reported that there several people have requested trees at a cost of approximately $150 per tree.  A detailed report is attached.

There is $20,000 available through CDNC funds for housing rehabilitation.  So far our neighborhood has spent none of the funds.  A Fair Housing Conference is scheduled for April 28, 2005.

Edna Meyer knows how to arrange for notices in the newspaper about our meetings.

Susan Downes reported that the sidewalk report is due March 25.

NEW BUSINESS
Edna Meyer Presented the slate of candidates for next year’s officers, which is as follows:
Susan Downes-President
John Downes-Vice President
Mary Bronson-Secretary
A vote was taken and it was unanimous.  Congratulations and many thanks to those who have agreed to their new offices. Gratitude was expressed for the outgoing officers.

Spring Clean-Up:  It was suggested that perhaps we don’t need to hold a clean-up since the Cliff Cannon group holds one.

The Clean Green is April 16.  There is a training session April 13 for those who would like to volunteer.  Flyers will be distributed.

Edna Meyer suggested using our communication budget top notify people by postcard of our meetings.
Tom Hemkins will work out the details of the CDNC representative.
Bud Hull mentioned that neighbors need to report any concerns to the COP Shop.

The meeting adjourned at 8:00 pm.

Respectfully submitted,
Rachel Martin
